ACROBATIC CATCHES

When ppl used to come over to our apartment I would throw my key off the balcony for them. I even invented a little bag parachute so the key doesn't fall too hard on the floor.

"Acrobatic catches": Whenever i threw my key (with parachute) off the balcony, I saw some pretty acrobatic catches from some of my friends over the summer. The first one was by Ballerina Boy aka Wushu aka Kevin Lu. As the bag was falling down wushu was staring it down as if the bag was bluffing him out of a poker hand. But once the bag was within arm's reach wushu not only caught it, but did a triple-axel in the middle of catching it. LOL. Very acrobatic, michelle quan wants her moves back. 8/10.

The second catch was made by James Quon aka Ant's bitch. James attempted to follow the bag's movement with his eyes and his body but the wind was howling that day and he was spinning all over the place. And just before the bag hit the ground, James was able to swipe at it and make the catch. He even said, "yea dat's rite bitch!" That's right, you tell that bag who's boss. Very good. 6/10.

The last memorable "catch" was made by Cyrus Kao aka Friendster Whore. When the bag was falling ever so slowly and gently, mr. kao did nothing but watch it land on the floor. No attempt. No points. 0/10.

The latest "acrobatic catch" was today in the afternoon. Simon Shue aka The Loser came over today and as usual i threw down the key. Simon did something that i did not expect at all. Instead of attempting to catch the key or concentrate on it falling, he did a Rain Dance as the key was falling down. don't ask me why, but he did do it. End result = no catch or rain. He gets a 2/10 (changed from 1 to 2 because he said he deserves creativity points) only because his rain dance entertained me.

today i went back up to berkeley to take care of some stuff and hang out with some friends. we played wiffle ball on campus. for my second at bat (during which i scored 4 runs) i popped a foul ball backwards into the creek. we lost the wiffle ball.

later we went to walgreens to try and buy a wiffle ball, but they didn't have any. so we bought a 99 cent frisbee instead. playing frisbee was really fun because it wasn't windy and it only cost us 99cents. but after about 5 minutes of playing i accidently broke the frisbee. i was running really hard to try and make the catch but it was too low and i stepped on it. the frisbee broke into many pieces. then my friend still wanted to see if it worked, so he threw the broken frisbee at me and it cut my arm.

last friday my friends and i went crabbing. it was around 11pm and cold. as bait, we used raw chicken thighs that we bought from a local asian supermarket. the last time we went crabbing we went around chinatown kicking down trash cans looking for fish heads that stores throw away, but after knocking over 3-4 trash cans we didnt find any. so this time, we decided to use raw chicken because thats what we saw an old man used and he was catching a lot of crabs.

we had three nets. the first net we pulled up lost its chicken. all of the chicken fell out of the cage, but it was weird because the cage was still closed. then we noticed that at the side of the cage there's a big ass hole. we were like, wtf that wasn't there before. so we pulled up the second net and the same thing happened. we thought someone must have been down there using clippers to steal our chicken. haha. our third net was on the opposite side of the dock and nothing happened to it. this further proved that our theory is might be true.

we had one functioning net left so we decided to use that net on the same side where our nets were broken. after 5-10 min we pulled up the net and the chicken was gone! we were like wtf this was our best net. but again the cage was closed and this time the cage wasn't even broken. so how did the chicken get away? one of our friends spotted a seal, so we figured that the seal must've been the one that broke our cages. but what about the unbroken cage we thought.

we tied a chicken leg to a rope and lowered it to the bottom to see if we would catch the seal or person that stole our chicken. it didn't work. we didn't catch any crabs. btw the ppl that were there before us caught one crab in 3 hours. so we left.

Thurgood Teacher-Student reunion was tiiitee. Props to Tracy and Nancy for setting it up. It was nice seeing old people from Thurgood. So the teachers who came were Perkins, Dr. Nunes, Hartzog, Powell, Quach and Redeczky. They all look the same and they even remembered our names. Quach even remembered James as Lap Chung. hahahha that was hilarious.

So Perkins has a six month old kid now. He's working at some investment company and at the same time he's taking night classes at Haas to get his MBA. pimp man. he was busting jokes all day.

Dr. Nunes is working on heading a program in Berkeley to get more math, science and engineers to teach in schools. She also has a kid and she brought him to the reunion. Shoutout to Titty for practicing on parenthood. haha.

Mr. Powell is teaching high school science in Palo Alto. He looks exactly the same.

Quach is teaching high school chemistry in San Mateo. He says he teaches the students who failed chemistry.

Hartzog (aka WARTHOG by Weng) is still teacher at Thurgood. Still wearing that fleece vest. Simon and I made him admit that Class of '02 was the best graduating class at Thurgood. He wouldn't admit it, but he did say that when our class left, Thurgood has been declining....we'll take it.

Some of the classic teachers that we were missing were Mr. Warshaw (War Machine) and Mr. Fuller. But Perkins said if we're able to get Kevin Mao and Steven Weng out next time, he'll bring Fuller.

P.S. Perkins semi-confirmed that there was something going on with Ms. Dye and Mr. Fuller. hahaha like none of us knew that.
